I have had chronic tendinitis in my elbows for several years. I tried on a pair of the gloves on a lark and instantly noticed that it changed my alignment in down dog. I love the support and freedom of movement the gloves give me in my practice.
This is a plea for advice:
I have arthritis in my left thumb joint, which gets really bad to where I can not do my yoga class while I teach. I have tried other gloves, but am reluctant to purchase these without knowing more about how they support for my arthritis?

The wedged shaped gel pad inside the WAGs does cover and support the third joint of the thumb where it attaches to the wrist, so you may find this beneficial. Also due to the decrease in the angle of wrist extension with the wedged gel pad, the articulation of the basal thumb joint with the wrist is changed so this can also relieve some pain.
The two other thumb joints (middle and tip) will be slightly elevated due to the wedge shaped gel pad, but will not be directly supported. By elevating the middle thumb joint there is no weight bearing pressure on this joint, so this may improve your comfort if this is the joint that's painful for you.

Recognizing that there is no one solution that will meet all peoples needs --WAGs come with a 30 day money back guarantee. So you may want to give them a try and see if they help your thumb pain.
Good Luck!
